Standard Check-in, Checkout Process

When can I check-in?
Check-in is any time after 3pm. 

Can I get an early check-in?
Our check-in system is automated with keyless entry which requires additional steps for early check-in. We recommend calling on the day of arrival to inquire about an early check-in.

What is 'keyless entry'?

Our reservation system is synced with our room locks so that when you make a reservation a unique 4-digit code is published just for you. We send this code to you in an email or an SMS text message ahead of arrival.

When is check-out?
Check out is 11am.

What do I need to do to check out?
Ahead of checkout, any balance owed for your room is charged to the form of payment we have on file. Simply leave your room ahead of 11am check out time with all of your belongings to check out. NOTE: Lock codes change after 11am the day of check out.

Can I get a late check out?
We do not offer late check out at this time. If you are having a medical emergency and can not make an 11am check out, contact housekeeping or the manager on duty immediately so we can assist with your health need.

Will I get a credit for checking out early?
At this time, we do not offer credit for vacating any room rental early.  

About The Property

Can I smoke on the property?

The property is strictly no-smoke, no vape, If you must smoke, or vape, the fire station next door is a good location to do so.

What about gummies?
Gummies and other edibles are allowed on the property if used responsibly.

Where should I park?

Three areas of parking are available on the property: Front parking - recommended for A-level (upper level) guests. Side parking - available to both A- and B-level guests. And, Lower parking - recommended for B-level (ground floor) guests.

Is the property mobility-friendly?

Most of our rooms at Green Gables Inn are mobility-friendly, accessible without a need for stairs, or with only a couple of steps. A-level (above) requires no stairs. B-level requires only two steps.

Are any of the rooms at Green Gables Inn ADA compliant? 

The A8 - Royal Suite with king bed is 100% ADA compliant with wheelchair roll-in access. Room A6 is wheelchair friendly with access to most of amenities. There is a tub with the shower in A6 that restricts roll-in access.

Is there room cleaning service?
We offer additional room freshening without charge after a two-day stay. If you would like this service, simply put the 'Please make up room' sign on the door knob outside your door before 11am housekeeping start time, to request room freshening service after two days of your stay.

What should we do with our room trash?
Please leave trash neatly bagged in your room. Housekeeping will pick it up shortly after you leave. If you would like to help us manage your trash, you can separate recycled cans, bottles, plastics, and paper for easy pick up. 

Do you allow pets?
We do not accommodate pets at this time. This policy is strictly adhered to. NOTE: sneaking pets into rooms will be considered a violation of our lease agreement that may be remedied by eviction without refund.

Is my documented support animal allowed in my room?
Yes, we do accommodate documented support animals registered with the State of Minnesota. As such, please provide proper documentation ahead of any reservation with Green Gables Inn.

Reservations & Cancellation

Can I make a reservation a year in advance?

Because our reservation calendar fills up quickly at certain times of the season, we recommend making reservations a year ahead to ensure you get the room(s) you want.

Can I cancel a reservation without penalty?
Because of late reservation cancellations in previous seasons, deposited funds with reservations are forfeit with cancellations 7 days or more in advance. Cancellations within 6 days or less will be charged the full amount of the room.

Can I get help making a reservation? 
If you need assistance making reservations, contact our front desk for assistance at 507-467-2936. If no answer, leave a message. Someone will be happy to assist you in finding the right accommodations for your stay.

Payments And Receipts

What forms of payment do you take?

Green Gables Inn accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discovery, American Express, and cash. We do not accept checks.

How and when do I pay the balance owed for my room(s)?
Upon entry and check in of your room, your balance owed will be charged to the card on file unless we hear otherwise. We can split room charges, and use separate forms of payment if we have advance notice that this is how you would like to pay for the balance owed.

Can I get a receipt of payment for my stay? 
Yes, you can. Let us know that you need a receipt ahead of check out, and how you would like the receipt, printed or emailed, and we will ensure it is provided.

Code Of Conduct

We want all of our guests to have a restful stay here at Green Gables Inn. In effort to ensure guests have the opportunity to enjoy a restful night, it is important that all guests follow our Code Of Conduct as required within this FAQ:

When is quiet time at the Inn?

We ask that guests respect the needs of others when it comes to quiet time for sleep. Green Gables Inn was made for sleeping, certainly for having a relaxing good time, but it is not the appropriate place for partying long into the night. Please respect the needs of others in remaining quiet after 9pm.

What should I do if guests next door, or near my room are loud or noisy after hours? 
Step 1 - contact us at our main number by text or by call. If no response, leave a message. Step 2 - if it is late into the night and you do not get a timely response from us via text or a phone call, contact the local police to notify them that a neighbor is causing a problem and that a noise ordinance is being violated.
